Cross Country Running

A primary school cross-country league began in Derry a few years back and as a result, we decided to get our children involved.  This club provides a very healthy challenge to the children and it takes some effort to cover the fairly long distances involved. The club meets each Tuesday afternoon and, under the guidance of learning assistant, Miss O'Donnell, the children work on improving their stamina and technique.  We have both Boys' and Girls' school teams participating in our local league races that are held in St. Columb's Park and at Templemore Sports Complex.  This year, we have also had one of our Yr7 boys make the NI Primary School team based on his excellent performances throughout the season.
