The Arts plays a major role within Sacred Heart and central to this is our Drama Club which meets each Wednesday afternoon throughout the year. We are fortunate to have not one, but two drama specialists within our staff - Mrs Loretta Bradley & Mrs Brenda Grant, both of Class Act Drama School here in the city.
In the early part of each year, the children participate in fun drama activities that aim to develop oral confidence and self-belief, and as the year progresses, they move on to preparation for formal Grade work. Most children now leave school with Grade 3 and several have managed to attain Grade 4, which is exceptional at this young age.
The confidence that these children gain from this type of work can be seen in class assemblies, their participation in Church celebrations and in our end-of-year Summer shows. Many continue their involvement in drama during and beyond their time at Sacred Heart by signing up with Class Act and several other local drama schools.
