Creative Centenaries Digital Workshops
On Friday 20th November the two Primary Seven classes explored and learned about the events of 1916 through innovative animations and comic books. Using curriculum-linked graphic novels and 3D style animations the pupils delved into the historic events of The Easter Rising and The Battle of the Somme, creating their own digital comic books.
Working in pairs the pupils used their imagination to compile short comics highlighting the role of Cumann na mBan and other volunteers during the Easter Rising or focusing on encouraging men and women to enlist in the First World War. This two hour session used Green Screen technology to include themselves in some of the comic strips. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning about these two events in history and presenting information using the Digital Technology.
