Primary 5 have been enjoying an exciting new investigation as part of our World Around Us topic, Magnificent Machines.
This week, the children explored the inquiry question:
“How do magnets work?”
Through hands-on activities, pupils investigated magnetic forces, discovering how magnets can attract and repel. They also tested a variety of everyday materials to find out which ones were magnetic and which were not.
The class worked like real scientists by making predictions, carrying out simple tests, and recording their results carefully. We look forward to researching how magnets are used in real-life machines, such as scrapyard cranes, electric motors, and other helpful technology.
