P5NK enjoyed a hands-on maths lesson exploring fractions of shapes using multilink cubes. The children built colourful shapes and worked out the fraction each colour represented, helping them develop a clearer understanding of the numerator and denominator.
They used problem-solving and reasoning skills to spot patterns and recognise equivalent fractions, such as different ways to make ½. The children were then challenged to order fractions, using their models to support their thinking.
A fun and practical lesson that helped build confidence with fractions through visual learning and teamwork.
