Science in Action!

The children in 3CW carried out a fascinating experiment with an orange! The big question was: Will an orange float even though it feels heavy?

First, they tested the orange with its skin – and it floated! Then, they peeled the orange and discovered it sank.  The children investigated further and found out that the air trapped between the orange and its skin acts like a little air pocket, helping the heavy orange float.
