Our Student Council had a fantastic outing to meet the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District, Ruairi McHugh.
Mayor McHugh was so welcoming, he told us all about his job and what it’s like to be Mayor of our city. He even joined in a Q&A session, and the questions from our pupils were amazing!
We also learned how a council works, before holding our own council meeting in a very special venue, the Council Chambers! ??
The day continued with a tour of the Guildhall, where pupils viewed the exhibitions and had the chance to see John Hume’s Nobel Peace Prize, a truly inspiring moment.
And of course, the visit finished with a magical stop to see Santa.
