Sacred Heart PS is very fortunate to have 2 state-of-the-art computer suites - one of these centres on Windows technologies, while the newest of our suites is geared towards Apple technologies, including iPads. All classes within the school use these on a weekly basis to support their learning in all areas of the curriculum and they are again used after school by those children who wish to further enhance their skills.
The club is taken by the school's ICT coordinator, Mrs C Wray and this year the focus has been on Coding. The children in year 5 have also been busy with Code Club. The projects are easy to follow with step-by-step guides which help young people learn Scratch, HTML & CSS, and Python by making games, animations, and websites. The projects gradually introduce coding concepts to allow young people to build their knowledge incrementally. A team of volunteers from ICT backgrounds share their knowledge with the kids.
