Children's creative, expressive and physical development is closely linked with all aspects of their learning. To develop this, pupils at Sacred Heart are given opportunities to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of art & design, music, movement, dance, dramatic and role-play activities. We paln activities that develop the children's fine and gross motor skills, that build confidence levels and that boost self-esteem. Throughout this Area of Learning, the primary focus is on the child's learning, the process of how the child appraoches each task and the enjoyment gained from it.
Through the areas of music, art & design and drama, each pupil is challenged to develop:
- Their curiosity, imagination and creativity
- Their self-confidence and self-esteem
- Their artistic, musical and dramatic skills
- An awareness of other cultures.
